Brubaker - The Story
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brubaker is an adventure game. You are Kyle G. Brubaker, a retired
CIA agent who decided to offer his skills none the less and opened an
acency. The first mission that he got was actually a quite simple one:
he should transport a ton of radioactive waste to Trinidad by plane.
But unfortunately the flight routed crossed the Bermuda Triangle and
so Brubaker's plane crash-landed there.

Now of course, Brubaker real mission is to examine the landscape and to
try to get back to civilisation...

How to Play
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The whole game is played with a joystick in port two. There are several
icons which you can click on and who represent the words that you had to
type in on a normal parser. Those are (from the left to right):
- show description of the room (0);
- examine (+ 1 object to click on);
- take (+ 1 object to click on);
- drop (+ 1 object to click on);
- turn on/off (+ 1 object to click);
- shoot (+ 1 object to click) (<- Not avaible on beginning!);
- repair (+ 1 object to click) (<- Not avaible on beginning!);
- use (+ 2 objects to click on);
- north/east/sputh/west (+ 0 objects!):
- load/save/qiut (0).
The number in brackets means how many objects you must click on in conjuction
with the "verb" (<-icon). For example, click on "take" then click on the
object that you want to take (use joy up/down/left/right). The verb "use"
needs two objects to be clicked on, whilw "show description of the room"
needs none, etc. During the gameplay you will find an ankh who changes
colours every 15 moves. You can teleport with this ankh. This colours mean:
red - moon, blue - earth, green - outer space, yellow - secret room. Use
"cancel", if you clicked on wrong.

The Versions
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The german version is a bit longer than the english one and thus takes two
sides. Side one contains the main file, the intro file, the sequences and this
instruction file. Side two contains two iffl-files with all the pictures,
three iffl-files with all the text, four 1-block files with the saved games,
and six block file called "scanners blockdata". Brubaker is fully filecopyable
but when you do so make sure no to copy this "scanners blockdata" file. This file
contains the iffl-track and sectrodata. If the file is not present, the scanner
will scan the disk automatically, and save this file then. So, the iffl-scan only
happenes when you play this game the first time. When you play it the second
time or more, the disk won't have to be scanned.

The english version exactly fits on one disk side (zero blocks free!). If you
do not include: the intro, all the sequences and this instruction file. There
might be some problems on non-dolphin-DOS drive to save a game to this already
completely filled darkside, so if you don't have dolphin DOS then ( ) save your
games to another disk, or ( ) copy the main file to the first disk side and
do not forget to turn the disk over in the intro. On a dolphim DOS drive a saved
game will first be scratched then the new game will be saved so there wont be a
problem. On normal drives it is vice versa.

Brubaker is an adventure game that features sound effects (as you will very soon
notice) and also features animated cartoon-style sequences. However rhese sequences
would just be the difference between a one side and a two side version and as I
wanted to have some iffl version, I decided to make a compromise: whenever an
cartoon-like sequence should appear, you'll notice that instead of the animation,
a text window will pop mup that informs you about the sequence number that should
be played and what is going on in this animated cartoon. If you write down the
number of the sequences during yuor gameplay, you can load, run and view this
cartoon-sequences later on. Remember it saves you a lot of turning the disk over
during the game!

I know the cartoon-sequences are funny but they do not contain any real important
piece of information that is needed to solve the game and you can always watch
them later on, or even before the game.

Oh I almostforgot to mention that there is also a picture slide show that let you
whatch all the pictures before even starting the actual game! That's a handy, useful
option I hope.

The window that informs you what cartoon-sequence should be shown now, is always in
english, even in the german version. After translating 200 blocks of text I was a
little bit tired to translate more you know!
